Intro to GD I:
Graphic Translation

Background

This project was given to the Introduction to Graphic Design I class at Virginia Tech. This is a sophomore-level class within the Visual Communication Design department.

Description

Students chose three objects from their environment (studio, office, dorm). Phase one of this project involved iteration away from the computer. Using paper, scissors, pens, and photography, students were to explore shape, line, and value. Phase two combined the handmade with the digital. Students were also responsible for curating their work. In the final phase, students further curated their collections and refined the digital solutions.
